Learn the Technique and Traditions of Maple Sugaring!
The Sugar Maple, and the sap harvested from it, has been part of the heritage of the upper Midwest for centuries. Join us this March as we tap our trees and use the sap to make completely natural maple syrup. Participants will learn about native American techniques for harvesting and cooking syrup (maple sugaring) through stories and hands-on activities, while also learning of the modern changes made to the process. All participants get to try 100% Maple Syrup snow cones and have the opportunity to purchase our 100% Maple Syrup (while supplies last).
This program is designed for adults and families. All participants ages 4+ must purchase tickets. Children under 4 are free.
This is a 2-hour outdoor program, so please dress for the weather! March in Wisconsin can be freezing or 70 degrees. Prepare for snow, ice, rain, and mud! No refunds unless event is cancelled by Hawthorn Hollow.
